s 300.6. Active Duty Personnel.
(a) Any person who is presently on active duty and who is
in all other
respects a veteran, as defined in Section 980 of the Military
and Veterans
Code, is eligible for a Cal-Vet loan benefit. It is not necessary
for the
veteran to have been discharged or released from active duty
in order to
qualify for a Cal-Vet loan.
(b) The Division shall accept loan applications from eligible
active duty
veterans when they can reasonably demonstrate that they or
members of
their immediate family, as set forth in Section 987.60 of
the Military and
Veterans Code, will be able to occupy the home. Occupancy
is a statutory
requirement, and the Division shall advise the applicant concerning
the
conditions of the occupancy waiver pursuant to Sections 987.62
and 987.63
of the Military and Veterans Code.
